This live online course is offered by Government Training Agency and is designed for students, interns, and crime analysts at all levels who want understand their role at their department. This course provides students with the necessary tools to build a solid foundation of crime analysis. Students receive an overview day to day tasks, navigating the law enforcement environment, and implementing best practices for effective crime and intelligence analysis. The skill sets and knowledge taught in this course will enable students to apply basic analytical techniques such as identifying crime patterns, trends and series, linking related crimes, using Excel to analyze crimes, and receiving knowledge about new technologies utilized by the crime and intelligence fields. The student will walk away with the tools necessary to become a successful and vital part of their agency’s tactical, strategic and investigative teams. The course is California POST certified and is a POST Reimbursement Plan IV course for California POST agency attendees.
