This technique, developed by police officer and criminologist Kim Rossmo, helps law enforcement analyze crime locations to find an offender’s base. Attendees who successfully complete this course are eligible to attend the Geographic Profiling Analysis II and become certified as a Geographic Profiling Analyst. Course instructor Lorie Velarde has used geographic profiling on over 200 active cases and has reviewed the use of the technique in over 1000 criminal cases. The crime types of her cases are burglary, theft, robberies, stolen vehicles, arsons, vandalisms, and others. She has worked cases involving organized crews and professional criminals such as SATG. Lorie is a subject matter expert in cellphone analysis, crime mapping, geographic profiling, and serial crime. She has been a geographic profiling analysis instructor for over 20 years, and her casework is featured in Dr.Rossmo's latest book "Geographic Profiling - Second Edition" (2025).
