Identifying Crime Patterns

Course Instructor and Crime Analyst Lorie Velarde provides you with the information you need to find the various crime patterns that exist and create products that highlight the important aspects of these patterns.  In this course, you will learn what constitutes a crime pattern, what different types of patterns exist, see examples of how to find these patterns, learn about tools that are useful in finding patterns, and see useful products that provide pattern information to patrol officers and others. You will receive an Excel template to help you conduct temporal analyses.  Quizzes are offered to test your knowledge and reinforce the information just learned. Case examples are used throughout the presentations to demonstrate the important aspects of crime pattern identification and communication.  This online course allows you to learn on your own schedule from the comfort of the location you choose.
