Did you see us at the International Association of Crime Analysts Conference?

Spatial Analysis Etc had a big presence at the International Association of Crime Analysts (IACA) conference this year in Las Vegas in September.  We were honored to be selected by the IACA speaker’s committee as well as the National Institute of Justice for 4 hours of presentations.  We covered automation, time-saving techniques, creating custom toolbars in Microsoft products, VBA coding, patterns with missing persons cases, locating bodies using Bayesian techniques, and more.

Our instructors showcased their research, GIS, coding, VBA tool creation, and Python skills, and we used Microsoft Excel, Access, and Power BI to create reports, tools and dashboards as well as analyze the data we included in our presentations.  We also effectively used PowerPoint to show attendees what we did and how we did it with lots of screenshots and images.

Our presentations were well-attended (even our 8am presentation on the last day of the conference!) and we received lots of positive feedback about our work.  Our instructors are working in and with the crime analysis community to communicate, learn, and implement best practices in our field.

You too can become proficient in crime analysis tasks and programs, just let us teach you. We are now offering courses in MS Access, MS Excel, MS Power BI, and ArcGIS, check them out here.
