Svetlana Gubin has over ten years of experience working with data in law enforcement agencies, including Oakland PD, Concord PD, and the Contra Costa Office of the Sheriff. She is an experienced user of R for data wrangling, analysis, visualization, and machine learning, as well as an advanced user of ArcGIS Pro and other ESRI products. She has developed knowledge in building dashboards and apps in Power BI and is familiar with various law enforcement, analytical, and visualization applications.

Currently serving as a Business Analyst II at the Oakland Police Department, Svetlana Gubin has received multiple awards for outstanding performance. Her duties include data research and compilation, developing analytical techniques, working with vendors, auditing local applications, training officers, and developing databases. She also creates complex Power BI dashboards, provides statistical reports for risk management, and supports DOJ statistical reporting requirements.

Previously, Svetlana worked as a Crime Analyst at the Oakland Police Department, where she analyzed crime patterns, developed statistical resources, maintained databases, and created dashboards for administrative and investigative needs. She has also worked as an Intern Crime Analyst at the Concord Police Department and a Student Worker at the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office, gaining experience in data extraction, statistical modeling, GIS mapping, and forensic technology validation.

Svetlana has spoken at various conferences and webinars, teaching crime analysts to use Power Query and Power BI. She has also volunteered with the Vallejo Police Department and the Monument Community Partnership, assisting with evidence review, fingerprinting, and tax return preparation for low-income individuals.
