Key Accomplishments:

2024 Year in Review

As we approach the end of the year, this is an ideal moment to reflect on our achievements, challenges, and plans for the future. We believe we have made significant strides in delivering value to our students and growing our company. Our mission at Spatial Analysis Etc is to provide high-quality, accessible training courses and products that empower individuals and organizations to achieve their educational and professional goals. We believe we have made great progress in doing that in 2024. Here are some highlights from the year:

Key Accomplishments

  • In-Person Course Offerings: We started the year by offering our core training courses in Microsoft Access and ArcGIS Pro. We had stopped offering in-person training courses due to Covid, and it was great to meet with students in-person once again. We updated our course content and materials, and our in-person trainings saw an increase in demand as the year progressed.
  • Launch of Online Platform: One of our major milestones was the successful launch of our online course platform. Designed with user experience in mind, our learning management system has excellent accessibility, interaction, and engagement for students across the globe. Students can launch a course, download course materials, and work through lessons on their own schedule. A certificate of completion is available for download at the end of the course.
  • Launch of All Things Crime Analysis Blog: During the last half of the year, we began offering articles about topics related to crime analysis. We intend to offer more articles in 2025 so we can provide educational information to anyone seeking it.
  • Increase in Enrollment and Subscribers: Our student enrollment grew steadily throughout the year. Our courses and products attracted a diverse range of learners including analysts, police officers, supervisors, and others. We also attracted students from several different countries. Subscribers to our website also grew steadily through the year, and we believe this shows the need for quality courses and the variety of learning options that we provide.

Student Satisfaction

  • Positive Feedback: Our commitment to delivering impactful, high-quality training was reflected in exceptional student reviews and ratings. A high number of our students reported satisfaction with our courses, with many highlighting engaging content and knowledgeable instructors. Students expressed their thanks for providing them with the technical skills they need to do the job.
  • Student Retention: Another sign of student satisfaction is retention, and we had many students take additional courses after completing their first one. These students shared how our training courses have helped them to learn difficult topics, with some students saying that our courses are the best they have ever taken.

Instructional Team Growth

  • Our Team: Behind every successful training program is a dedicated team of experts. 2024 was a year of growth. Our instructors created new in-person courses and downloadable products, which expanded our offerings.
  • New Instructors: We also added new subject matter experts to the team. It has always been our goal to seek expertise outside the field of crime analysis, and this year we accomplished that by collaborating with chiefs of police, software engineers, data scientists, and others. We plan to follow this trend in 2025 by adding other experts to the team. Stay tuned for new courses by these talented instructors.

Challenges

  • Getting the Word Out: Reaching potential students is an ongoing challenge that we continue to work on. We post our courses to association websites, conduct direct mailings, and advertise on social media. Current students can help us by sharing information about our courses and articles to those who may be interested, and those who want to receive news about our courses and products should subscribe through our website.
  • Content Development: As the demand for specialized skills continues to rise, developing high-quality, up-to-date content remains a challenge. We plan to work closely with out subject matter experts in the coming year to create more courses and products that are relevant and consistent with current law enforcement practices.

Looking Ahead

We are excited about the opportunities to further innovate and serve our students:

  • Course and Product Expansion: As we approach 2025, we are excited about the opportunities ahead. We plan to offer several new courses and products that focus on getting hired, career development, using Microsoft Office tools, and using GIS systems. Students can search these categories on our website to find courses in these areas.
  • Enhanced Learning Tools: We plan to integrate more interactive elements within our learning management system. These will include social networking tools on our platform. Social networking will allow students to interact with others in the same course, share information with each other, and make connections.
  • Enhanced User Experience: Our commitment to customer satisfaction continues to be a priority. We hired a UX/UI designer to streamline our website and all aspects of the user experience. Our UX/UI designer will begin in January. We look forward to implementing her recommendations.

2024 has been a year of growth and innovation for Spatial Analysis Etc. We are grateful to our students, instructors, professional staff, and host agencies for their continued support. Together, we have achieved great things, and we look forward to even more success in the year to come. Thank you for being part of our journey! As always, training is an investment in you.  We wish everyone a prosperous and fulfilling New Year!
